But it doesn't matter if you know what the entire acronym stands for if you still do not know what the expanded set of words really mean, unless you are a really techie person. So, to an average person who doesn’t have a degree on any computer-related study at all, how will you be able to understand what SIP VoIP is?
SIP is a kind of technology that was created in order to provide betterment for systems of telecommunication worldwide. But for anyone to be able to make the most of this of technology, they must still have to look for a provider that could give them such service.
SIP trunking is what it's called when a particular normal telephone system gets connected to the internet, which makes it completely SIP-enabled. And when I say the internet, it is the same place where your favorite websites are located.
So instead of working on the typical telephone lines, a SIP VoIP enabled system transfers data and signals through the internet. And since you are no longer using the typical telephone system, you will no loner use a PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) number but an IP address.
For instance, when a SIP VoIP enabled phone system calls another SIP VoIP enabled phone system, all they have to do is connect using the other's IP address. On the other hand, if a SIP telephone system contacts a regular PTSN number, it will simply adjust so that the IP address will change to become a PTSN number closest to the number being called.
Now, what is the greatest difference that a SIP VoIP enabled telephone system has compared to normal telephone systems? The advantages of using this system lies solely on the advantages of the internet. For example, you will be able to eliminate possible long distance phone call charges because the internet does not really apply this.
